One of the most famous love stories ever written, Romeo and Juliet is Shakespeare's immortal tragedy about two star-crossed lovers from Verona. Its ballet adaptation was set to music by Sergei Prokofiev in 1935, featuring a happy ending (quite different from the original play) which proved controversial with the Soviet officials. Directed by M. Nałęcz-Niesiołowski , choreography by J. Tyski.
