Once one of Vilnius’ best known restaurants, Lokys (The Bear) opened its doors to rouble-paying customers way back in 1972 in the Gothic cellars of an Old Town building dating back to the late 15th century. Long ago overshadowed by better places, dining here does at least provide visitors with the opportunity to genuinely say that they came to Vilnius and ate beaver.
I had a beautiful meal there in the summer (August). Porcini (aka boletus) soup and a roasted salmon sald. Service was good, and food was excellent. The garden outside in summer is a perfect venue.
