A combined restaurant and wine shop, Bistro 18 specialises primarily in dishes from the world of European seasonal cuisine including French onion soup, risotto, pasta and scores of meat-heavy dishes such as beef and rabbit. There's tasty desserts too, and the aforementioned wine shop is well stocked. There's little sympathy for vegetarians here, but if you're into classy dining on one of old Vilnius' most scenic streets this might just be the place for you. Note that the kitchen closes a couple of hours before the restaurant.

Highly rated in local media as VIlnius's No.1 voted restaurant, 3 years consecutive ! Well deserved rating ! One of the few restaurants on par with Sue's Raj as the best in Vilnius. Very well cooked French/International dishes, and not expensive, about 70-80 litas per person including dessert and glass of wine. Tasteful internal decor, with discreet and elegant clientele, service a bit hurried but ok. It's so popular, you need to reserve a table for friday & saturday a day before , otherwise you'll be turned away at the entrance....

Bistro 18 Vilnius LithuaniaBriefly Rude attitude nothing specific in taste. If anyone bothers for details Having read IYP and Tripadvisor's reviews I and my husband expected at least something tasty nice in atmosphere and good at service but... Even though we've booked a table for two for our Friday dinner in advance we were located in the empty white corner without any option to change whereas there were 80 tables free both by the time we came and left the location. The quisine is usual nothing superior - I've been to many countries and places to compare objectively tasty without any special points to remember. French name and ambitious menu do not motivate owners to have true French cider though but only sorry but true chemical British one.And finally the service... Our feelings were truly offended by the attitude from staff weird and I would even say with all due respect chauvinistic. So I wouldn't recommend this place to my fellows due to attitude and any other due to lack of simple respect to those who come to spend some nice time within their place and willing to pay for that.

Bistro 18 certainly lived up to expectation. Our meals were delicious, the staff very helpful, and the ambience just right.

I've been eating here for a couple of years and enjoying the experience every time. I was there about two weeks ago, but it seems like the menu selection seemed old. The food was certainly still good, but maybe the menu could use a new dish or two to entice. I also didn't like how out on the street in front of the entrance one of the owners slapped a hungry street cat along its torso so that it wouldn't enter the restaurant. I fully understand why they don't want cats coming into the place, but stomping the ground or clapping near the cat will certainly scare it away. Seems bad form to strike a hungry street animal.

Dined at Bistro 18 twice in May and on both occasions the food was excellent. Staff were attentive and all smiled at you, not a common experience in some restaurants in Vilnius! Try booking the little wine room at the entrance, secluded yes but if you want to impress then it is ideal - it feels like you are getting very person al service in your own private dining room. Value for money cannot be questioned.

when I was there, people say about fresh produce, when i was there it was not tasty, service it looks that they want to smell your ass..! not confortable, and I am sorry food was not tasty even portions are not equal... I agree that it can be a good restaurant in Vilnius comparing with the rest of restaurants.

Bistro 18 was the best restuarant by far in Vilnius, friendly staff, excellent service and great food. The wine list is great and the atmosphere really relaxed. If you go to Vilnius go to Bistro 18. Awesome

We spent two months in Vilnius during winter and ate at Bistro 18 nearly every night after we found it. It has delicious food everything we tried on the menu was 5star, the staff were happy and polite and made you feel so comfortable. They even did take out for us on the nights we wanted to stay in. An awesome place!!!

Nice place, great atmosphere, best food!! Had the homemade Irish sausage over mashed potatoes and didn't walk out groaning like with typical Lithuanian fare. The staff and owners seem eager to please and help you enjoy such good food and atmosphere.Watch your step if sitting up in the front side tables!! Architectural stone column bases left over from a former Chinese restaurant decor are just close enough to the floor to go unnoticed before it's too late to avoid tripping over them.

Awesome little restaurant, great selection of wines and the Lamb was amazing. I have read alot of reviews from this website about the different restaurants in Vilnius, I've been here for two weeks eating out everyday and this is definately one of the best in Vilnius. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent wine, decent prices...definately recommend.

Good food.Friendly staff.Decent wine selection.Even got a plain pasta for my daughter which was not on the menu (I have experienced in Lithuania that it is very difficult to order and get anything which is not on the menu.)Will definetly go back.

I can't recommend this place highly enough! The only thing I would say about the review is that 18 out of 20 is not enough. We just went for lunch and had the best meal out for months. Both steaks were excellent quality and perfectly cooked, the wine was fantastic and good value and, best of all, the service broke the mould for Vilnius: genuinely friendly and attentive, interested in us and efficient. Go there!

Wandered in here on Saturday 6 Sept (prompted by a great review in a local mag) and on the crazy day that it was, due to 'Vilnius Day' weekend (oddly), calmed ourselves in the easy atmos with a couple of bottles of fab french wine and a great meal! Really good service (such a genuine welcome from the lightbulb-fitting owner on arrival) and a pleasing bill at the end - all round satisfaction. Highly reccommended by me, you can tell.

I was very impressed. First of all, they seemed genuinely happy to see us come in the door. Secondly, the service was prompt, friendly and professional, probably the best I have seen anywhere in Vilnius. Thirdly, they are the only restaurant in Vilnius that properly chills the white wine to a perfect temperature. Fourthly, the quality of the ingredients in the dishes we ate was top notch. The salad was by far the freshest I have eaten in Vilnius, the fish and asparagus were done just right, and the apple crisp dessert with hot caramel was to die for. And the check was not that expensive, considering the quality and the service. The entire experience is highly recommended.

Steve from Scotland, what's Morgan got to do with Bistro 18? Friend of the owner?
Steve
the word "knob" comes from the Swedish "Morgan" meaning "impatient, tiresome and leaning towards know-it-all-ism" (see above). We've just been to Bistro 18 and it was fab.

Your review is spot on, a relaxed atmosphere, good service, great food, and really good value, will definitely go back.

The word Bistro comes from Russian word Bistra, Fast (During Napoleon's campaign to Russia, Every Saturdays Russian would supply their troops beer, and the soldiers would shout Bistra (fast) to get in line first, and the French heard this and thought it mean good food.Well the service is Bistro 18 is anything but fast. Took a whole hour to get my meals.
