A boutique hotel filled with art, where no two rooms are alike, this property has been made out of two beautifully renovated buildings on mostly pedestrianised Pilies, with a thin atrium in the middle. Flashy but with a hipster touch, it encourages guests to get up close to the art, with original contemporary paintings, installations, sculptures and textiles, all of them locally made, in every room. Frescoes and 16th-century brickwork only add to the allure. In the rooms and open-plan suites are lots of little touches – Android-connected smart TVs, Chemex coffeemakers, unique ceramic mugs, water filters, adjustable air conditioning, branded toiletries, king-sized beds with Hilding Anders mattresses, heated bathroom floors, and more. There’s even one of the city’s best restaurants downstairs. Definitely one of the best places to stay in the Old Town.
