There are plenty of Russian cafes to eat in in town, although in many places the experience can be a bit slapdash. Thankfully, some good restaurants are starting to pop up focusing on making Russian cuisine beautiful and exciting, as well as even attempting to offer foreign cuisines like Asian or Italian. Even though Veliky Novgorod is a small town, dining out is definitely not as cheap as you might expect. Drinking is also not so cheap if you want to be in somewhere with a bit of atmosphere.
