Locations don’t come much more picturesque than a busy market hall, large expanses teeming with trade, commerce, produce and socialising. Turku’s Market Hall is the second oldest of its kind in the country, built at the end of the 19th century to fight against the poor hygiene of open market trading, a hall designed by a man who travelled around Europe taking notes and collating ideas. The market hall remains a hub of activity today, a great place to wander around and get a feel for modern day Turku.
