More than 700 years of history are held within these granite walls, and if those walls could speak then we’d be in prime storytelling territory at Turku Castle. Founded in the late 13th century, this medieval marvel on the banks of the Aura has seen everything that history has thrown at Turku, and it has lived to tell the tale. It no longer provides residence for dukes, governors and the rest, but it stands proud as Finland’s most visited museum and the most-must-visit attraction in Turku. English language guided tours are available throughout the summer.
