Another medieval fortress just a few kilometres outside of the city, Mičevac is listed as a national monument of the country and tells the tale of this town’s once vital position in the world. It was first mentioned at the beginning of the 15th century and had the important role of protecting communication between Dubrovnik and the region, as well as housing customs offices and the like. Little remains of the fortress today except ruins and memory. It is found 6km outside of town, not far from the Arslanagić Bridge.
