The second of two mosques in Trebinje’s old town, the Emperor’s Mosque was always intended to be the first and most important. That went to the dogs when Osman Pasha Resulbegović built a more beautiful mosque and named it after himself, but that is another story for another time. This mosque has a picturesque setting next to one of the great riverside bluffs, making it obvious why it was built in this place back in 1719.
