Opened in 2003, the Tony Halik Museum of Travelers was inspired by the donation of over 800 non-European artifacts by renowned traveler Elżbieta Dzikowska. Collected during expeditions with travel film-maker and Toruń local Tony Halik, these artifacts form the core of the museum’s unique collection. Each year, Dzikowska enriches the museum with new ethnographic items from distant cultures. Due to the collection's rapid growth, the museum expanded into a neighbouring building, creating a modern exhibition space. This enhanced venue now hosts both permanent travel memorabilia and temporary exhibits, celebrating the spirit of global exploration.
