Said by some to be the oldest house in the Balkans, this magnificent example of a traditional Ottoman-era konak is at least 300 years old and has over the centuries served as a military building, a hospital and even a women’s prison. Now owned by the Albanian artist Sali Shijaku (1933) and surrounded by a beautiful garden, the villa operates as a café and gallery containing a large collection of Impressionist and Socialist Realist paintings.
