Fishing was once everything to the Algarve, and it is this humble endeavour that takes centerstage in the Portimão Museum. It is apt that the museum is found in an old canning factory, and the exhibitions passionately tell the tale of the industry that kept this part of the world afloat for centuries. It isn’t all just about fishing though, with plenty of history and culture included as well, with an entire section dedicated to the archeology of the Algarve.
