Also known as the Prince Henry the Navigator Archeological Museum, Faro’s Municipal Museum is one of the oldest in the region and undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive. The museum holds the area’s largest collection of national artefacts, displaying the history of Portugal from neolithic times to the modern day through an impressive range of objects. The gardens of the museum are also worth a look, with a statue to the doctor who invented a cure for syphilis waiting for you.
