The Vjosa is perhaps at its most stunningly beautiful near Peshtan, where it wiggles its way between fields and forests towards the Këlcyra Gorge. The village, set higher up the mountain and 16km from Tepelena, overlooks both te Vjosa and Drinos river valleys. With churches, bridges, old farmhouses and several good guesthouses and a range of rewarding hikes and day trips, its a great destination for a spot of agroturizëm.
