Most people who love Georgian cuisine have at least once in their lives wondered whether they couldn’t find it in a less pastry - heavy and deep - fried form - if you’re one of them, come check out Leila’s. Cafe Leila is a pescetarian (some fish options available on the menu) and a healthy dining experience in Tbilisi that serves only village - grown, non - GMO and seasonal products. You won’t find fried foods here - only grilled and steamed. Their very successful version of Kharcho is made with mushrooms and blackberry sauce, served with mchadi (corn bread) on the side. Their Khashapurito is made with three different types of cheeses plus mushrooms. Finding cauliflower Bazhé in the menu convinced us this is truly a family style restaurant. Try some of their honey and apple homemade vodkas, or the jejili juice shot if you’re feeling adventurous. Make sure you explore the decor inside. Their sweet hostess Kethie will be more than eager to tell you the story behind Cafe Leila.
