The Beer World (Õllemaailm) is one of the newest museums in Tartu. Reopening in 2022 in the historic A. Le Coq brewery after thorough renovations -  a visit to the Beer World is an amazing trip through time, which takes you back through more than 12,000 years, right to the very roots of beer culture. During this exciting and interactive journey, you can enjoy authentic experiences, aromas, tastes, and listen to several fascinating legends and stories of how this fermented beverage got its frothy start and how brewing changed throughout the centuries. While on your sudsy journey, you'll gain new knowledge of beer history, techniques, beer styles, get up close to some very interesting equipment and even get to see one of the oldest preserved beers in the world. This adventure introduces the proud history of A. Le Coq - dating back more than 200 years alongside the history of 'beer city' Tartu and its importance throughout the years. You'll also learn how beer was made in the past and how it's currently brewed today.
We advise you to save at least 1.5 hours for your visit to the beer museum. A glass of crisp beer or a refreshing soda pop (limonaad - also bottled onsite) is waiting for each guest in the A. Le Coq Gift Shop at the end of the tour. Terviseks! (Cheers!).
