In the customary tradition, Tallinn Day is typically commemorated on the 15th of May. However, this year, festivities are scheduled to occur on the 14th and 15th of May. Tallinn Day honours the conferral of the Lübeck City Law upon the city in 1248, a pivotal event that facilitated Tallinn's entry into the Union of European Cities. The primary objective of Tallinn Day is to celebrate the rich history and resilient spirit of the city and its inhabitants, while also spotlighting its historical heritage and contemporary achievements.
On Tallinn Day, you can enjoy a variety of exciting events, including €1 entry to the Tallinn City Museum and its branch museums, as well as a free visit to the historic Town Hall on the 15th. On the 18th, a diverse cultural programme awaits, featuring a re-use market in Telliskivi Creative City and vibrant dance performances in Vabaduse Square.
