The dominant feature of London’s skyline, St Paul’s Cathedral stands on the highest point of the city, at the top of Ludgate Hill. This English Baroque beauty is the second largest church building in the country, although the dome itself is one of the biggest on the planet. It is here that the country’s major services are held, be they notable funerals, jubilees or the arrival of major peace. The cathedral is a working church, but tourists are free to come and go as they please, although by free we mean £20 on the door (with discounted tickets available online).
