A statue created to remind people of how this spot was once a cultural landmark in Sopot. The store behind it used to house the Kino Polonia cinema, and earlier a theatre, before being closed and gutted. The façade is all that remains and this prompted artist Adam Myjak to create this work. At the piece’s unveiling the artist said ‘My work represents the fact that man lives not only in the material world but also has spiritual needs’ and that he hoped that it would remind people of the creative spirit that lived here – if the city council didn’t move it to make way for a beer garden.
