Bird-feeding at the Beach

more than a year ago
When it's far too cold to take a dip in the Baltic (unless you have joined a Walrus Society) the coast is still intriguing and incredibly atmospheric in the winter time. It's also where you'll find lots of ducks and geese enjoying the water as if it's a 30°C day! The latter are quite comfortable getting up close, especially if you're eating a sandwich (see picture). However, there's been a recent campaign to discourage feeding birds along the Tri-city coast with white breads and other processed foods, due to the fact that it causes wing deformities and will significantly harm the local population.  If you really must, go to a supermarket and pursue some birdseed (PL: nasiona ptaków).
Feeding birds with whitebread on Sopot Beach is hugely-discouraged as it causes wing deformites amongst birds.
