There are plenty of younger pizza operations all over the Tricity, each of which have their own loyal followings, however, Andiamo a Roma in Sopot is an Italian family business and, quite frankly, the real deal!
Firstly, it is important to note that this is not just Italian cuisine, but specifically Roman cuisine, and, unlike it's counterpart in Gdynia, this is a more all-round restaurant. Choose from the full range of antipasti, soups, classic pasta dishes and a bunch more belissimo options before getting to the pizza list. If you're on the move, or you're looking for a bit of variety, you can take advantage of their pizza by the slice!Their Roman-style pizza bases have a thicker crust, which would normally mean dense and bloating, but these are bubbly like Turkish bread yet still idyllically crunchy. You can order pizza from the menu, but it’s a lot more fun to order a mix of slices from out front and share them with a friend. The richer Prosciutto/Artichoke/Mushroom is currently a favourite, as well as the Cztery Sery, what the Italians would rhyme as Quattro Formaggio (Four Cheeses), and the latter features a generous dollop of blue cheese! On the lighter side of things, when you bite into a slice of Vegetariana, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and perfectly grilled. Likewise, the Mushrooms/Mozzarella/Fennel is another example of how all the ingredients perfectly balance each other and are distinguishable on your tastebuds. Last but not least, we must mention coffee here: While many pizzerias have an espresso set-up but never anyone trained up enough to use it correctly, Andiamo produce amazing cappuccinos that surpass most cafés in the Tricity! Strong, silky froth and just the right temperature.
