Beddgelert is the sort of place the elicits open-mouthed reactions and exclamations of wonder, the type of town that encourages visitors to change the direction of their lives and make plans to live out their days in this stone village of no equal. The beautiful village is forever linked with the tale of Gelert, the faithful hound killed by Llywelyn the Great after a misunderstanding vis a vis a child and a wolf. Easy mistake, but Gelert’s Grave is the main attraction in town. The curiosities don’t end there, as a meteorite actually hit the town in 1949. Wales is just that sort of place.
