Okay, we’re not going to deny it; Andalusia doesn’t exactly have the best of reputations when it comes to accessible vegetarian and vegan food. Seville bucks the trend (of course it does) with a fine roster of herbivore-happy spots that don’t skimp on the calories, while many of the big name restaurants have plenty of meat-free options on offer.
Fresh food made from organic ingredients and served by people who really do care about the world they live in. There is a lot to love about Milk Away, and it is the food that comes first. This takeaway spot is found in the centre of town and is a great option for anyone looking for something a little more health-conscious than the barrage of cured meats.
You know where you stand with El Paladar. This traditional tapas bar not far from the river has three menu boards plainly explaining what is on offer ― one for meat-eaters, one for vegetarians and one for vegans. That alone makes it deserving of high praise when it comes to the culinary scene in Andalusia, and luckily the food is every bit as delicious as you hope. The vegan tapas are particularly excellent.
The world needs more places like Habanita. Cute as a button and twice as practical, this little restaurant is found in the historic centre of town and offers tapas for both carnivores and herbivores (and everything in between). No stone is left unturned in the quest for excellence here. We do have a begrudging respect for any business using Comic Sans in today’s judgmental world as well.
We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again ― if you’re putting a pun in your establishment’s moniker, we’re going to give it plenty of time. Hops & Dreams doesn’t need such gimmicks to grab our attention though, as this is a modern day beer paradise. A great selection of beer sidles up next to a fine menu that has plenty to offer the herbivore, making Hops & Dreams about as up to date as a culinary and craft beer spot can be.
Being located next door to market is always a boon for restaurants, but El Enano Verde doesn’t take its position for granted. The people in charge make the most of that market on a daily basis, seeking out the freshest of ingredients to ensure the most delightful of daily menus. Vegetarian and vegan food is the focus, straight from the market.
