This 17th century building once served as a residence for the elderly priests of the city, a place where the tired, the old, the disabled could live in peace and harmony, as opposed to struggling on their own. The structure was completed in 1675 and served as its original function until 1805, when the Brotherhood of Silence fell apart and could no longer sustain the hospital. This Baroque building is stretched over two floors, with a charming courtyard and a hugely impressive church. It is also home to the Velazquez Centre, a small art gallery with rotating exhibitions.
