One of the oldest petrol stations in the Netherlands has managed to escape the demolition mania of the Den Bosch city council. In 1933 this classic building was constructed at Bosscheweg 1 with an authentic balustrade, an outside staircase, three flagpoles, smoothly designed steel windows and green glazed bricks. For the massive sum of €800,000 the building was eventually moved 55 meters away to make way for a new road. Although neglected for another 10 years when this national monument looked dirty and derelict, it has finally been restored to its original, colourful appearance.
