Riga’s residents and visitors can see an exhibition at the Latvian National Museum of Art dedicated to a pioneer of Latvian conceptual art, Juris Boiko (1954–2002). Because his family had been deported to Siberia, he was banned from attending university once he returned to Latvia, yet he still managed to become one of the founding members of the NSRD creative movement in the 1980s. Most of the installations seen here date from the 1990s and were created from salt, glass, photos and videos. Images by Juris Boiko.
