Hotel Viktorija is housed in an historic Art Nouveau building in the city centre. Most rooms are sparsely decorated with bright pastel walls, wood furniture and wall-to-wall carpeting. Each room also includes cable TV, phone and private bathrooms with showers while suites also provide a more luxurious setting with a few extras like refrigerators, bathtubs and views. Although not as stylish as some of its competitors, Viktorija is good value-for-money.
i am writing you because i want to share with you the terrible experience i had in a Hotel here in Riga.At 13 10 of 7th April 2011 i was having a shower into my private toilette at the "Viktorija hotel" in Riga and the door of the room was locked but in the maintime someone managed to get inside my room and stole my computer. As soon as i notice my laptop was not there anymore i immediately went downstairs and asked t the receptionist to have a look of the video as into the hotel there is a CCVT camera but she just told me " today the camera in your floor is broken" I immediately called the police and i did a report but they told me it will be hard to find my computer as the hotel never check who is getting in and out from the hotel moreover they couldnt watch any video because CCVT camera was broken... keys of hotel are also "primitives"" I asked to the hotel manager to help me in order to find my laptop but in such a rude way she decided to deny any help and also any refund saying camera was broken "only for 2 hours"... it seems that actually camera was broken for more than one week. I was really surprised they didnt do anything for me i always paid 2 weeks in advance my renting room and they just didnt care about my complain. They instead told me they did everything to help me telling me they also contacted that italian ambassy but the ambassy informed me they didnt received any call from the Hotel! Manager of Hotel refused any refund because she claimed she was not sure if i had my computer in the hotel but when i was living in the Hotel I every night was using my computer next to the receptionists because the internet connection in my room was not working good so everyone knew that I had computer. Viktorija Hotel also claims that "the only way your door could be unlocked was by breaking the locker" but it sounds strange as every hotel has passepartout or copies of the keys...I also let a negative reference to the Hotel web site but they felt free to cancel it. I wish noone else will be involved in the future in a such a bad situation...that is why I am writing you.The "Viktorija hotel" is located Aleksandra Čaka iela 55Rīga LV-1011 Latvija.
