Having a meal at COD is not unlike dining in a wooden box – an ultra-stylish box that you might expect to see in L.A. or London. In fact, the atmosphere is so exclusive that you half expect to see Hollywood celebs, if not local oligarchs, sipping authentic Japanese craft brews and signature cocktails with a spicy tuna roll and a side of salted soy beans. Fresh sushi and sashimi can also be had, but the genuine wood-fired robata grill in the open-plan kitchen seems to be the biggest attraction. Order grilled scallops, wagyu beef and other delicacies or walk past the living wall of moss and take the stairs to the basement lounge for Japanese sake, whisky and cocktails under a huge manga painting.
