This underground beer bar is located in a small cellar with hardwood floors, brick walls and an unusual central pouring station that looks more like a church pulpit than a bar. It’s manned by one of the city’s fiercest beer snobs who offers nothing but the finest ales, IPAs, stouts and other delicious brews from around the globe, not to mention a few local beers that are deemed good enough to grace his Beer Cell, a reference to the Belgian monks who produce some of the world’s best brews. Dozens of beers are available in bottles as well as roughly eight draught brews and you can also order sausage and cheese plates if you get hungry.

An absolutely fantastic choice of real ales and prices are extremely reasonable. As well as a great selection of British bitter and stout, this place has pale ales from all over Europe and North America, including Iceland. No nonense bar with a friendly owner who truly knows his beers. Brilliant new spot in Riga!
