Rearing up at the sothern border of the district, the bare peaks of 1996-metre-high Mali i Munellës or Mount Munella are visible for miles around. This remote mountain gets few visitors, making it extra special to explore the oak and fir forests and the alpine pastures above - home to the elusive Balkan lynx. After getting close in a four-wheel drive, Topi peak on the mountain makes for a challenging hike with its steep cliffs. The impressive karst landscape near Tuç village lies at an altitude of around 1800m and has typical phenomena like caves, funnels and karstic wells. Not far from here, a legendary nine-metre high black mulberry tree has survived over four centuries.
