The Strahov Monastery has stood near the castle since 1140. Today, you can visit two of this Romanesque monastery’s highlights: the Strahov Library and the Picture Gallery. Containing about 1500 pieces of artwork, the Picture Gallery has items dating from the 1300s through to the 19th century. The Library is a stunner, divided into the Theological Hall and Philosophical Hall, they are packed with texts, frescos and 17th century globes. Unfortunately, you can’t enter the rooms. Tram 22 to Pohořelec.
