Kafka's Home

Náměstí Franze Kafky 1     more than a year ago
As the name suggests, it was here that Franz Kafka was born on July 3, 1883 at a location which sits right on the border between Staré Město and the Jewish district of Josefov. Kafka only lived here for the first two years of his life and the building was completely destroyed by fire a few years after the Kafka family had left. The spot is marked though with a plaque, a bust on the building and a small exhibition, while the current building is used to host cultural events.
