Fun times, Prague island style lasts all August long at Střelák. This popular open air film and concert festival connects the great outdoors with some happening entertainment. Films are shown nightly, sometimes preceded by a concert or other event. Highlights include a special “Irish” night on August 12 with the band The Hogs playing traditional Irish pub music ahead of a screening of The Commitments or go Indian with a screening of Bollywood’s Swades: We the People/Our Country on August 15. Film goodies include There will be Blood on August 1, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on August 2 and No Country for Old Men on August 22. There’s a bar on site, but no food, and you can rent petanque sets, Frisbees or badminton sets. Check www.strelak.cz for a full listing of events.
