According to their own organisers, this annual fantasy festival and fair at the Poznań International Fairgrounds is full of 'everything that geeks love': huge exhibition halls bursting with books, comics, clothing and gadgets, plus dozens of rooms hosting workshops, lectures, meetings, exhibitions, competitions and cosplay shows. The highlight of Pyrkon is the Masquerade - the most prestigious cosplay contest in the country, which is also a qualifier for the European Cosplay Championships. Lasting three days, the festival also creates PyrCamp on the shores of Lake Strzeszyńskie, where festival participants are encouraged to keep the immersive experience going late into the night in the 'Magic Zone.'
