Before World War II, this was the main parish of worship for Catholics in Łazarz. Founded in 1900, the red-brick Neo-Romanesque building features a latticework tower, and there is a very faithful copy of Michelangelo's Pieta in the main altar. So faithful, in fact, that when the Pieta in the Vatican was badly damaged by a hammer-wielding madman in the 1970s, this copy was used as model for the restoration work.
