Marcin Masecki, an avant-garde composer and pianist, along with drummer Jerzy Rogiewicz and a 16-person choir, will perform a unique musical oratorio called “Sanctus Adalbertus” about St. Adalbert for this year’s Nostalgia festival. The piece was created by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the death of the first patron saint of Poland, St. Adalbert (‘Wojciech’ in Polish), but it was only discovered recently by the composer’s son after Górecki’s death.
