Malta Festival, a unique meeting of artists and intellectuals, often representing opposing views, has been in the centre of Poznań's cultural life since its conception in 1991. In its original form, the festival concentrated mainly on the alternative theatre. Since then, it widened its scope to include musical performances, concerts, and even went as far as organising a silent disco. The 31st edition will be held from the 18th of June until the 29th, under the slogan "Back to the Ground". We will see a return of last year's "Krynicki's Project" with composers, Paweł Szymański, Paweł Mykietyn and Alek Nowak, performing special comositions that are based on the poetry of Poznań's Ryszard Krynicki. The programme also includes public theatre events, critically-reviewed theatre, family theatre events, open-air concerts, activities for children, yoga on the grass, dance warm-ups, art premieres involved, installations, as well as artistic interventions, workshops, meetings and debates.
