The Glenn Miller Orchestra was founded in 1938 by - you guessed it - Glenn Miller, but the man died six years later when the plane he was flying in was lost over the English Channel. The band continued under new leadership; in 1953 Hollywood released <em>The Glenn Miller Story</em>, greatly boosting their popularity. Sixty years later, the orchestra is still touring (with all new members, naturally).
