Poland’s beloved musical icon Anna Maria Jopek is known for her collaborations with world musicians, and as an ambassador for Polish music. After a journey through Japanese music (on the album “Haiku” with Makoto Ozone) and Portuguese music (“Sobremesa”), Poland’s beloved musical icon, AMJ will sing again in Polish, this time alongside a Cuban trio of the biggest improv pianists of our time - Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Her new record “Minione” was released on Valentine's Day, and resurrects the most beautiful pre-war Polish tangos. The artists chose songs (like Rebeka or Twe Usta Kłamią) that inspire them and which could serve as a bridge between the past and modern music, and between Polish, Cuban, Jewish and American cultures. AMJ has stated that music is the language of love, and when she works with musicians with different musical traditions than her own, she is always excited. “Minione” was produced and arranged by Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and the album was made to the highest audio standard thanks to Grammy award winner Carlos Alvarez, and recorded in The Hit Factory in Miami, Florida. Along with the release of the record there will be a tour with stops in the biggest Polish cities.
