Chapel of Bones

Every bit as ominous as it sounds, the Chapel of Bones will make you thank the lord above that you aren’t an 18th century monk. Decorated with the bones and skulls of over one thousand monks, this little chapel is actually quite a beautiful place, albeit a beautiful place with a full skeleton hanging above the door. Don’t get overconfident about your non-18th century monk status, as the plaque reminds us — ‘stop here and consider, that you will reach this state too’. Cheerful stuff.
