You’ll just have to accept it — no photo you take will match the real thing. Porto’s Palácio da Bolsa is one of the city’s most beautiful spots, although the use of the word ‘beautiful’ doesn’t do this place justice. The city’s stock exchange was built in the 19th century, a paean to Neoclassical architecture in the heart of the city and a real jaw-dropper tailor-made to impress visitors. The facade is plenty gorgeous, but the riches waiting inside are on another level entirely. The dome of the central courtyard is the stuff of dreams, while the palace is home to a number of rooms that showcase the best that Portuguese has had to offer. Your photos won’t do it justice, but there’s no harm in trying.
