Gdańsk Library PAN

Dating from 1596, the Gdańsk Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PL: Biblioteka Gdańska PAN) is a stunning example of brick gothic architecture and one of the most photogenic buildings in the old town area. Upon its founding, it housed a modest 1,161 books. As of the most recently-known count, the library is now 800,000 books strong!
