Vola open air started as a dream back in 2008.
A dream that came true, to gather in one place valuable non-commercial music with the natural meadows of the Balkans and share it with friends. Thus, with a lot of enthusiasm and love, Tsvetoslav Yotov started the emblematic Vola Open Air. Throughout its 12 year history, the festival has actively worked for the cultural development of the most economically challenging region in the country, which however is well known as one of the most beautiful places in Bulgaria. With the support of Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park, the stages of the festival rise right on the historic peak Okolchitsa, where a beautiful stone cross in honour of the revolutionary hero Hristo Botev is located. Within the park there are several protected areas, including the reserve "Vratsa Karst", as well as many natural landmarks and protected areas. There are 16 hiking trails, and thanks to the unique karst relief, it is a suitable place for alpine tours, speleological expeditions, hang gliding and mountain biking.
The Vola Open Air festival can easily be combined with a visit to cultural, historical or natural landmarks in the area, such as the House-Museum Baba Iliytsa with an extremely rich and remarkable exposition of old objects of Bulgarian life, an Amusement Park or the Ledenika Cave with its formations, figures and draperies is one of the most beautiful caves in the Bulgaria.
However great the interest in mountain, rural, eco, sports, cultural and cognitive tourism; the programme of Vola Open Air will take us into the world of good music with its tradition of inviting memorable artists, the festival is once again poised to not disappoint....
Vola Open Air takes place with the support of the National Culture Fund, Public Donation Fund Vratsa, Stroyrent, America for Bulgaria and Pustinyak Beer.
