Drink Like a Local Parisian

more than a year ago
It goes without saying that the French capital has a good reputation when it comes to food. Some even think that it is Europe’s gastronomic capital. However, Paris has recently become one of the coolest drinking cities, as well. Its drinking scene has turned into one of the best and most diverse in Europe because of the dozens of cocktail temples, eccentric bars, speciality wine bars, and craft beer dens cropping up in the city.

Although Paris is known to be a wine-drinking city, many nightclubs, cocktail bars and craft beer bars continue to shake up the city’s drinking scene and there’s no shortage of places to sip delicious drinks in the city. For most Parisians, bars serve as a place where they can meet with friends over a glass of wine (wine in Paris is a religion.)

Parisians love a good glass of red wine, preferably with delicious platters of cheese. They also love beer. However, they see it as a before dinner drink or something to have with a light lunch. They also like to spend a nice evening at a bar, with a soft and cosy atmosphere, where skilled barmen serve high-quality cocktails, ranging from vintage cocktails to daring modern creations.

Parisians simply want to discover the forgotten tastes of French alcohols or try inventive cocktails that are pushing the limits of mixology. Want to experience the city through the eyes of a local and connect with the local culture? Then go to the places where the locals go to enjoy some food and a couple of drinks.
