Skipper abides by local customs when it comes to service. This may be unchartered waters for greenhorn westerners. Its popularity among Odesians is due in large part to the availability of tradition beer munchies such as krevetki (shrimp), calamari and the dried fish that hangs from stringers above the bar like sinister Christmas decorations. The location, out of the way in a dimly lit neighbourhood, is far from ideal. On the bright side, it’s a passable joint for sports viewing and you get to fawn over local waitresses who prance about in sailor costumes. Also at vul. Torhova 51.
