This Statue of Liberty is much smaller when compared to the one standing proudly in New York City. However, this statue in Nice was created by Bartholdi, the same sculptor who created the one in New York and it was one of the first pieces to be created that eventually inspired him to create a larger version that was later planted in New York. The location of the Statue of Liberty in Nice is Quai des Etats Unis, overlooking the sea. Visitors go to this area to take a walk along the coast while enjoying the beautiful views of the bay.
