Dossing down under a beer tent for the night with 300 heaving bodies may not necessarily be what you came to Munich for. However, whatever your views about drunken Aussies, blocked loos, and the heavy odour of sleep, sweat and canvas, you won’t find anything cheaper than The Tent. The €8.50 fee buys you a blankets, sleeping pads, an opportunity to shower and a bite for breakfast. For an extra €2.50 you get a bed (of sorts) in the Bed Tent plus breakfast. Situated in a leafy park, this no-curfew, no age-limit, come-and-go-all-night place is a 13-minute tram ride from the Hauptbahnhof. Only open June to Aug/Sep.
