A café since 1857 and the supposed birthplace of Munich's most revered edible, Weisswurst, Zum Ewigen Licht caters mostly to tourists these days which is not surprising given its location opposite the Neues Rathaus. Although largely discredited by scholars as the true first creator of Bavaria's national sausage, no one seems to care, least of all travellers from foreign lands. Service is dreadfully slow, but the view is sublime and the little white links are delicious.
