We’ve long claimed that the sun is the best thing one can choose to worship, so of course we’re going to feel somewhat smugly satisfied when such things are discovered. The Konjic Mithraeum is a 4th century Roman temple given over to Mithra, the remains of which were discovered in the late 19th century. The site is a couple of kilometres north of the station, but we recommend nipping into the tourist office and making this part of a grand daily tour, along with the other things on offer. You can visit Tito and Mithra in the same day, how wonderful.
