Located in Salford, The Lowry is one big homage to all things creative and cultured that demands a visit. Named after local painter L.S. Lowry, the theatre slash gallery slash studio was opened in 2000 to great acclaim, and has hosted a wide variety of incredible bands and artists in the years since. The building itself is well worth a look, and the bi-annual Week 53 festival is one of the most anticipated in the city. We saw Sigur Ros here back in 2005, so needless to say we have quite magical memories of this place.
